Hello,

My name is Morgan Horgrow

Hi, my name is Morgan Horgrow and I am a senior at Huron and I have been on yearbook staff for four years. My adviser OC has taught me a lot and I have so close due to my leadership position. Sometimes I call her mom because she treats me like the daughter she never got to have. But it wasn’t always this way. During my freshman year I would sit in the back of the room facing the wall, not wanting to do any work or participate because everyone looked like they knew what they were doing and they were mostly upperclassmen.

I started working on my first spread and it made me realize how fun and intriguing working on the yearbook was. I was more dedicated to doing work and getting it done as soon as possible. I had group members who didn’t do any work so it pushed me to get everything done even if I was doing it alone. Then, during my freshman year she made me assistant editor. Sophomore year I moved up to managing editor and worked on one of the best pages that I have done my entire time being in yearbook. My junior year I was moved up to Editor in Chief and helped everyone with everything and made sure that the pages looked nice and that we were getting the coverage we needed.

Now, my senior year, I am again the Editor in Chief with my friend Natalie. We work really well together and we both are very determined when it comes to the yearbook. The yearbook staff is more of a family than friends. You build very strong relationships with people in the class and outside of the class. It’s a very fun experience and it definitely strengthens your communication and writing skills.
